Boeree’s hardly just another pretty face at the tables though; do not underestimate the power of those gorgeous light eyes. Liv earned her degree In Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.
Liv Boeree Television Poker Hostess
We first saw Liv enter the poker world on the Ultimate Bet reality television show UltimateBet.com Showdown, where she learned the ins and ‘outs’ of poker from, none other than, Phil Helmuth and Annie Duke. In 2006 we saw Liv in her role on Gutshot TV at the 2006 WSOP.
Not too long after her gig at the WSOP that year Liv covered the European Poker Tour for Challenge TV and the WSOPE (World Series of Poker Europe).
Liv Boeree as a Pro Poker player
A couple of years later, in 2008, Liz took 1st place in the Ladies European Championships that were held by Ladbrokes winning $30,000 and, at least, putting her in the minor leagues as a serious poker contender. A couple months later in Las Vegas, Boeree cashed in two events in the 2008 World Series of Poker winning about $7k.
Over the next couple of years Liz cashed here and there, in events such as the World Poker Tour (WPT) adding up cashes and earning a reputation as a pro poker player. It was that April tournament though that really put her on the map, on the 21st of April 2010 Liv took down the European Poker Tour in San Remo winning €1,250,000 and becoming the 3rd ever woman to win a European Poker Tour title.
Not long after that, in September of 2010, Liv became a PokerStars pro poker player.
Liv Boeree the Younger Years
Mom and Dad Boeree raised Liv as a self-admitted spoiled child for the first 10 years of her life. When they broke up, Liv’s mum eventually remarried. Liv’s new step-dad brought with him two children, that Liv says ‘are great’, that were very near in age to Liv into the family. Liv says in the end that she ended up with four wonderful parents, instead of just two.
Liv Boeree and Kevin MacPhee
Where does a hot poker playing diva such as Liv Boeree meet a suitable boyfriend? At the poker table of course. Liv sat next to Kevin MacPhee while both played the $5k NAPT Bounty Shootout in LA. They played an action filled big blind vs. small blind hand, wherein Liv having been dealt 77 and MacPhee Ace/Ten. Liv made a boat with her pocket sevens, about the same time MacPhee made quad aces.
Since that time the two have become a couple.

Liv Boeree – Self Proclaimed Tomboy
Boeree has been quoted saying that growing up she was a “complete and utter tomboy”. She was raised in a rural area, where she grew up around animals, riding horses, climbing trees and mucking in the mud.
Boeree also recalls a time when she was a bit on the socially awkward side. She liked to do more of the ‘boy things’ like playing sports and competing with other kids. Make up and boys really weren’t her thing.
However, when she hit about 15 years old, she found out, as many teen girls do around that age, that there were some advantage to garnering the attention of the opposite sex. Boys weren’t the only thing Boeree discovered when she was 15 years old, she also found one of her life’s true loves… Heavy Metal Music.

Liv Boeree – Guitarist
After hearing the Black album by Metallica and Rage Against the Machine Boeree, who was never really into music before, was head over heels for Metal and knew then that she had to learn to play the guitar. She first started learning on her step uncle’s jumbo acoustic, without first learning how to read music. When she hit 17, she was out to buy her own guitar. Boeree bought her first electric guitar, a bright sunburst Epiphone Les Paul from Ebay.
You can watch Liv Bouree rock out with her guitar playing Kissing the Shadows by Children of Bodom on YouTube.
You can play online poker with Liv Boeree at Pokerstars.
